April 24th 2010. Previously, this place is known as Double Helix
Bridge which connects the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort, Singapore Flyer,
The Float at Marina Bay, and the new Youth Olympic Park. In addition to
connecting the popular places in Singapore, this bridge also has stunning
architecture that forms the double helix of the steel spiral. It is a bridge
arches over the water and the longest in Singapore and it’s along 280 meters
with a height of 8.8 meters at its highest point.

planned to be opened on 24 April 2010, but it is still in the construction
phase, then the new Helix Bridge finally completely opened on 18 July 2010.
Bridge has an area for pedestrians
and automatically become the longest bridge across Singapore. When night falls,
it will be surrounded by colorful lights like red, blue, or green. That bridge

is very cool. The bridge that was once called "Double Helix",
designed by Australian architect firm, Cox Group and Arup engineers, and
assisted by an original architectural firm of Singapore, namely Architects 61.
The construction is handled by Sato Kogyo. They built the first helix design in
the world, using the inspiration of Yin and Yang. Yin and Yang are very typical
of Australia and it is expected to bring happiness to anyone who visiting the
Marina Bay. It’s truly an extraordinary masterpiece and very beautiful.
Helix
Bridge was built using at least 650 tons of duplex
stainless steel and 1000 tons of carbon steel. Therefore, this bridge can form
a very unique helix. Strong precision and form a symbolization of lights that
can be interpreted as DNA such as pair C, G, T, and A is lit and each of them has
a meaning cytosine, guanine, adenine, and thymine. Bridges is connected to the
park in the south of the Marina, in the east of the Marina and at the center of
the Marina. The bridge was built in hopes of connecting communities, cultures,
a new recreation, entertainment events, even for just a place of relaxation
while walking.
